At its February board meeting last month, Creating the Future’s board discussed their priorities for the year – not the priorities of the organization, but the priorities for the board itself.

From that list of topics, the board will be tackling the issue of “Board Composition and Recruitment” at its March meeting. (We’ll be using the process outlined in Hildy’s board recruitment manual if you want to play along. Excerpts that apply to this meeting are in this pdf. And if you are inclined to buy the book, please use this link – Creating the Future will receive an Amazon-sized (that means small) referral fee if you do!)

In addition to the questions in the book, we’ll also be asking:

  • What could the composition of our board make possible for our community?
  • What could the composition of our board make possible for accomplishing our mission – making day-to-day approaches that bring out the best in each other the norm in all environments?
  • What would the ideal board composition have to be, to accomplish that?

We know this is an issue of interest to anyone sitting on any board anywhere, and especially of interest to people who care about Creating the Future’s board. We look forward to your being part of the meeting!
