What will it take to create conditions for your own success?
First a Quick Update…
If there were no such thing as organizations as we know them,
what would we build to accomplish social missions?
If that question intrigues you, come explore at this month’s board / community meeting on Monday, January 14th! We will continue discussing our own organizational structure, with special guest Susan Basterfield from the cutting edge New Zealand organization, Enspiral. To be part of that conversation (or to just listen in), info is at this link.
And now, this week's main feature:
Making 2019 the Year of What’s Possible
Everything that happens in your life is a result of cause-and-effect.
In order to achieve the results you want (the effect), those results are more likely to happen if conditions are in place (the causes). If those conditions are NOT in place, the results are far less likely. That’s just how causality works.
We all hear stories of people who achieve remarkable success, even in the face of daunting challenges. What do they do to create that success? Read more here…
And importantly in this brand new year, what will it take for you to create the conditions for your own success?
Try this:
You have defined what you wish to accomplish. Now it's time to ask yourself…
- To accomplish that result, what do you need to know?
- What do you need to understand?
- What do you need to be assured of?
- What do you need to believe?
The answers to those questions will paint a picture of your own personal conditions for success. From there, you can create a roadmap for creating those conditions.
If you need to know X...
What will it take for you to learn that? What would need to be in place?
If you need to be assured of Y...
What would it take for you to be assured of that? What would you need to know, or believe, in order to be assured of that thing? What would need to be in place?
Learning to mindfully create the future you want is all about learning to use causality, to create conditions that will make your desired outcomes as inevitable as a snowball rolling downhill. That ability to create causality is one of our uniquely human superpowers.
That is why causality-based Catalytic Decision-making is a key component in the Catalytic Thinking framework.
Coming soon: A self-paced class in Catalytic Decision-making, rooted in this free 18 minute video class about the science behind creating cause-and-effect conditions. To be notified when that class is available, click here to let us know you want to be on that list!
Want to learn alongside other people who are also trying out Catalytic Thinking practices? Join our Catalytic Thinking in Action community on Facebook - a welcoming place where you can ask questions and learn from people like you who are experimenting with these practices. We look forward to seeing you there!
