Including Gandhi’s quote as part of your email signature is one thing. But it is quite something else to actually – well – BE that change. That’s because that quote demands that we face ourselves honestly, asking...
If it winds up the thing that needs to change is YOU,
are you willing to change?
All change is personal change. And we can think of no one better to explore what that means than Community Foundation CEO turned Zen priest, Brian "Joshin" Byrnes. In our latest podcast episode, Joshin shares his own insights and experience when it comes to BEING the change we want to see.
- Are you willing to give the “other side” the benefit of the doubt?
- Are you willing to ask questions instead of thinking you have the answers?
- Can you look for the strengths, the wisdom, the pain, the lived experience in others, rather than making assumptions about them?
Thinking we are “right” and others are “wrong” is the opposite of walking in someone else’s shoes. It is the opposite of being present with how that person is experiencing life.
When it comes to the assumptions we make about other people, we can all do better. And in this episode of the Creating the Future podcast, Joshin helps us see a path to “better.”
You’ll find that episode here https://rss.com/podcasts/creating-the-future/2094104.
And as always, let us know what stands out to you as you listen!
