Board Meeting: June 2013 (Awesome!)

Creating the Future BoardWhat does an AWESOME board look like? Join us for our June board meeting, and find out! (For details, skip to the bottom of this post.)

And in case you think we are exaggerating, we have proof that Creating the Future's board is AWESOME – the Awesome Without Borders Foundation says so!

Last month, we received one of the foundation's weekly awards.  Here's just a bit of what they said about our work: "Gutsy, radical, futuristic. These are just a few of the ways to describe the work of this group. And we would know. Our team still hasn’t stopped talking about it." (You can read the rest of what they said about us here.)

This month's agenda has not been set yet – part of what the board will be doing is to prioritize and determine what to discuss. Because our board is simultaneously governing the organization while being its own R&D Governance Learning Lab, no issue is ever just about that issue – it is always about reaching for what is possible for all boards, everywhere.

What that means is that no matter how mundane an issue might appear (bylaws, budgets, rotating roles of the board), our discussions tease the intention and potential out of those mundane issues, reaching for what those issues really make possible.Composite Photo of Creating the Future's Meetings

And just as important, we prove that you can have fun doing so!
