Catalytic Thinking Immersion Curriculum - Overview
Classes that Bring Out the Best in Everyone!
Creating the Future's immersion curriculum provides a deep dive into the various practices that make up our Catalytic Thinking framework.
Background
Since 2009, the cornerstone of Creating the Future’s programs has been immersion education. Participants in that program spent several months reading, watching videos and engaging in personal conversations with instructors, culminating in 5 full days of in-person immersion into the Catalytic Thinking framework, followed by an introduction into our community of fellows.
That immersion course was the first step for approximately 100 change agents - our Creating the Future Fellows - to become more effective in every aspect of their lives. In 2015, however, it became clear that the content we had to share had outgrown our ability to teach it in just 5 days.
In early 2015, we began developing a whole new curriculum. Instead of 5 consecutive days, the new curriculum provides several trimesters-full of immersive experience. Over those months, participants slowly practice each aspect of the Catalytic Thinking framework, applying what they learn to their work and their lives in real time.
Instead of traveling to attend class in a central location, the new curriculum is available online and in your own community, over a period of 10-12 weeks, allowing plenty of time to learn, practice, reflect, and then learn some more, practice some more, and reflect some more.
The New Curriculum
Each course in our curriculum builds upon the knowledge gained and practice established in the prior courses. Details about each course are provided at the links below.

Creating and holding space to create conditions for people to be at their best in any situation. Learning practices for bringing the whole person into the room, regardless of the situation.
102: Catalytic Listening: Bringing out the best in PEOPLE and SITUATIONS
Creating conditions for people to be at their best in specific situations, especially when they might be at their worst. Learning practices for listening for people’s potential (and knowing what to do with what we hear!).
103: Catalytic Decision-Making: Bringing out the best in SITUATIONS
Creating conditions for the best possible results to emerge in any situation, through a deep understanding of causality. Learning practices for making mindful decisions that create a cause-and-effect path to the results you want.
104: Collective Enoughness: Bringing out the best in PEOPLE and SITUATIONS
Moving from strategy to action through a deep understanding of Collective Enoughness. Learning practices for identifying and building upon shared resources. Because together we have everything we need; it is only on our own that we experience scarcity. (Coming in 2017)
201: Continuum of Potential: Bringing out the best in PEOPLE in specific SITUATIONS
Creating conditions for people to be at their best in specific situations, through the practice of meeting people where they are and creating the conditions for them to step into their potential. (Graduate level course, coming in 2018)
