What do you think our values are?
What talk do you see us walking?
|
|

Help Us Define Our Values in Action This week we’re taking a break from our series on building supportive, joyful teams, to invite you to be part of a deeply meaningful event for Creating the Future – and hopefully for everyone who participates.
On June 12th, Creating the Future’s board will adopt an updated Statement of our Values in Action. This
is a first and vital step in restructuring this whole organization, to
facilitate accomplishing our mission. (Read about the link between our
mission, our values, and our restructuring at this link here.)
As
a member of our community (and if you read our eJournal or participate
in any of our activities, you are absolutely a member of our
community), it is important to us that your voice be part of that
process. That means two things:
|
| 1) Tell us what values you see us modeling. Values
are only meaningful if they are acted upon. As we work to refine our
values statement moving forward, we’re asking you to tell us…
- Based on what you see and feel in our actions, what do you think our values are?
- What does it appear is important to us?
We’re gathering your answers at this post.
We confess it takes more than a bit of courage to ask this question. What if we’re not living up to what we aspire to?
We
also know that the only way we can be the change we want to see is if
we walk that talk. And the only way to know if we’re being successful
is for you to tell us what talk you think we’re walking.
So please head to this post, and let us know what you see and feel in our actions.
2) Join the discussion at our board / community meeting. If
you haven’t been part of our meetings (or didn’t know you could be),
all our leadership and strategy meetings at Creating the Future are
open for anyone to participate, in real time in the meeting. And
because our meetings happen online, you can participate from anywhere
in the world!
It is so important to us that the people who will be affected by our decisions be part of those decisions.
So please join us…
- If you want to be part of the discussion of our values in action
- If you want to just watch, to experience Catalytic Thinking in real time
- If you are just curious what an open board meeting looks like
You’ll find info about joining the meeting, as well as what to expect, at this post here.
|
| Next week, our eJournal will take up where we left off, with our series on building supportive, joyful teams. Stay tuned!

Keeping Our Programs Freely Available Most of the programs at Creating the Future are free or low cost, with liberal tuition assistance when they aren’t.

| If you find our programs of benefit, we hope you will consider contributing, to help keep these programs available to as many |

Creating
the
Future
is a
collection of
people around
the world,
supporting
each other in
a grand
experiment.
|
|
|
|
The
experiment:
To
determine how
much better
the world
could be if
the questions
we ask in our
day to day
lives are
bringing out
the best in
each other.
If
everyone,
everywhere, is
bringing out
the best in
every person
they encounter
– and if the
systems that
guide our
behaviors are
built to bring
out the best
in all of us -
how much
closer will we
all be to a
healthy,
humane world
that works for
all of us?
