Our uniquely human nature is our only hope in these troubling times.

That's Just Human Nature In a post last week, Hildy reminded us of insights she originally shared in The Pollyanna Principles
|
| What we think of as “human nature” actually describes traits we share with other animals.
It is the traits that are unique to our species that hold the key to the joyful, humane, healthy world we all want. Read more…
|
| This is important to Catalytic Thinkers. You know that your assumptions will create the actions that determine your results.
|
| If you assume “human nature” is all about greed, fear and scarcity, your actions will reflect that, and so will your results.
But
if you assume, as Hildy shares, that humans have a unique combination
of traits that can catapult us towards the humane world we all want to
see, your actions will reflect and create THAT.

Try this: Noticing Human Nature |
|
This week’s practice is a simple one, yet it could make a huge difference in your life and in your work.
Celebrate the humanity in your fellow humans.
Because noticing when things go wrong is part of our animal survival wiring, it takes practice to override that system, to stand watch for what is good and kind and connected.
|
| So this week, notice the humanity in your fellow humans.
When you do, breathe in a deep breath, smile (yes, really – smile – it changes your brain chemistry!) and remind yourself out loud, “THAT is human nature.”
|
| And as always, as you notice and celebrate our true human nature, let us all know what you find!
|
|
|
Want to learn alongside other people who are trying out these practices? Join us at the Catalytic Thinking in Action community on Facebook -
a welcoming place where you can ask questions and learn from people
like you who are experimenting with these practices. We look forward to
seeing you there!

Keeping Our Programs Freely Available Most of the programs at Creating the Future are free or low cost, with liberal tuition assistance when they aren’t.
|
| If you find our programs of benefit, we hope you will consider contributing, to help keep these programs available to as many |
|

Creating
the
Future
is a
collection of
people around
the world,
supporting
each other in
a grand
experiment.
|
|
|
|
The
experiment:
To
determine how
much better
the world
could be if
the questions
we ask in our
day to day
lives are
bringing out
the best in
each other.
If
everyone,
everywhere, is
bringing out
the best in
every person
they encounter
– and if the
systems that
guide our
behaviors are
built to bring
out the best
in all of us -
how much
closer will we
all be to a
healthy,
humane world
that works for
all of us?
