Work teams can make or break the
success of your efforts.
What would it take
to bring out the best
in every member of your team, whatever the situation?
|
|
|
When things go
well on a project, it is people who made that happen. And when things
go wrong, people made that happen as well.
Yet when people are assigned to a new project or team, organizations
just assume you'll figure out how to work together.
What
could be possible if you accomplished your organizational goals by
bringing out the best in every member of your team? To explore this
more deeply, read Rebecca Hurd's excellent article here.
To experiment with bringing out the best in every
member of your team, try asking these questions at your next team
meeting:
- What would it look like if your team were working
well together? What would you feel like as a member of the team?
- What would it take for your team members to get to
know each other as people vs. job titles?
- What would that make possible for you and the
other members of your team?
- Discussion question: What conditions lead to
trust? What actions could you take to create those conditions?

Creating
the
Future
is a collection of
people around the world, supporting each other in a grand experiment.
|
|
|
|
The
experiment:
To
determine how much better the world could be if the questions we ask in
our day to day lives are bringing out the best in each other.
If everyone, everywhere,
is bringing out the best in every person they encounter – and if the
systems that guide our behaviors are built to bring out the best in all
of us - how much closer will we all be to a healthy, humane world that
works for all of us?
